I love devouring one YA book after the other and most of my favourite books usually lie in the YA genre. I also adore shipping characters with each other soo I thought why not make a blog post out of it? Last month, I asked everyone on Twitter for some popular YA couple names for […]
OTT PROMPT THOUGHTS YOU HAVE WHEN YOU ARE CRUSHING ON A CHARACTER Are you even a booknerd if you don’t have a crush on at least 5000 book characters? I think not. It’s an inevitable side-effect of reading books. The books steal your heart and so do certain characters, it’s completely normal, at least in […]
You ever think of going on a nice and long summer vacation to just relax and bask in the sun but then you remember that you have zero friends whom you would like to go on a vacation with? Well I’m here to ask, what if you could take your fictional friends on a nice […]
It’s the second day of Bookending Summer! The sun is shining brightly, the birds are chirping and my skin has cleared. Okay so the sun may be shining too brightly to the point I am blinded and the birds might just be annoying pigeons but just take my word that it’s a good summer day […]
Hello everyone! It’s been a long time since I last held an author interview, I think that was probably the beginning of 2018? So basically it’s been too long and now here I am with an interesting interview with one of my favourite YA authors. If you follow me on any social media site you […]
I had a wonderful time reading all your lovely posts for this prompt which I have linked down below 🙂 Can you believe Off Tangent Thoughts has been running since two weeks now? I still feels so surreal to me, especially the fact that all of you have greeted it with so much of love […]
It’s April! It’s Spring! And the rest of you may know that I’m one of the hosts for Bookending Spring and I’m […]
What do you write about a book that’s already been raved about by every single person you know and which has rendered you absolutely speechless? I’ve been putting off this review since so long because I’m positive that I’m just going to end up with garbled word vomit including things like ‘I’M DEAD’, ‘ANOTHER PLOT […]
To start off with, I’m not big on Valentines Day. It’s kind of a silly holiday which has basically been invented to market all sorts of red and pink mushy goods to us. Okay, maybe this isn’t the best way to start this post. What I mean to say is that I don’t really care […]
Hello everyone! Welcome to the first edition of this newly formed feature: Off Tangent Thoughts where I’ll let present before you a list of my crazy, fanatic thoughts on bookish events and situations because apparently you find them hilarious. My original post that sparked this idea was Thoughts I Have While Reading A Slow-Burn Romance […]
I just took a look at my book review posts and realised that I haven’t done any mini reviews since a decade! That’s sad because mini reviews are my absolute favourite and well I do have a lot of books whose reviews I haven’t really got to yet. Whoops.
Winters are here and it’s time that we bookdragons go into hibernation within our warm blankets or next to the fireside with a pile of books and an unlimited supply of food and coffee. But often there’s a small question. What books should you read? You aren’t in the mood for horror or mystery or […]
Thank you so much to Reet and Sanjula from @The Blue Moon Archives for nominating me, especially since these two are totally out of the universe fantastic 🙂 This award was created by Kaleena @Reader Voracious Blog. She created this award to recognize exceptional bloggers that are engaged in the community and publish excellent content. […]
I love reading books, which you would definitely have noticed if you aren’t blind. But what I especially love in a book is a fluffy and cute romance that makes my facial muscles ache from smiling and my throat sore from squealing and giggling. Lots of readers love romance, if written the right way. Let’s […]
Hi everyone! I’m peeping out of my hiatus for this one review post, but I’ll be back soon 🙂 In the meantime go ahead and read my review of No Heroes by Jamie Hall, a book of many colours. 3/5 stars Official Goodreads Summary: Michael’s life is one of little importance, which is a far […]
I owe a huge apology to this wonderful book that I had promised I would review ‘soon’ but as usual my ‘soon’ turned into ‘late af’ I read The Dangerous Art of Blending In on the 1st of this month and today it’s the 19th. Someone give me a pat on the back. This had […]
Hi, I’m alive! Things have been super busy and my review of last month’s BOTM for The Banned Book Club kept being pushed back until today when I stepped down my foot and said ENOUGH. So here I am, reviewing The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things – an unconventional title but hey! Don’t […]
A long time ago back when J.K Rowling had started writing Harry Potter, Sahi @My World of Books had tagged me for the Bookish Academy Awards Tag and look who’s finally getting to it!
This tag was originally created by Bookadoodles so go check out her video for more information! The basic rundown is that there are various categories like in the Oscar awards only that the awards will be given away to books and bookish characters! Exciting, right?
But also insanely frustrating….
This tag drove me nuts because it’s so difficult to chose between books! You always forget about some book or the other and feel guilty about leaving them out. So I tried to include only those books which I’ve read in the past year. Tried.
And today in the life of Charvi we’re going to watch the main protagonist, aka me, bang her head against the wall while trying to recollect all the bookish characters she has ever read about.
That alone wouldn’t have been a problem but she has to know which characters she actually relates to the most and hello whoever thought this is an easy job is clearly insane. Not to mention she needs to chose just 5 of them.
Serious contemplations of burying herself under her pile of books had been made.
If none of that is making any sense let me just say that I’ve been tagged for the ‘Me in Character’ Tag wherein I have to list 5 characters I relate to the most and why.
Ask any bookworm what their haven is, the answer will always be curling up in their comfy bed with an unending supply of books, food and coffee/tea.
See, we’re such simple creatures.
But have you ever wondered why we like to stay holed up in our bedrooms instead of venturing outside with our books? Because reading in public is a complicated process that may involve inevitable death due to embarrassment. And apparently I do have a death wish because you can frequently(read: always) find me reading in public.
And so I decided to make a list of pros and cons of reading books in public because I’m obsessed with lists and have a severe need to analyse everything. But this can be very useful for you, so keep reading on!
