Myths of the Blogging Universe

Myths are something most of us find interesting to read about. I find them absolutely fascinating and at times humorous when they’re so creatively fabricated and don’t really seem to hold any truth.

But it isn’t so funny when myths appear in real life because more often than not it is very difficult to discern them from true facts.

So today I’m going to decode some of the myths that have been plaguing the blogging universe for a while now and driving everyone nuts. But I’m not alone! I’m here with Shruti from her blog This Is Lit to help me out with this massive task of educating you all.

Blogs Based Solely on Book Reviews

For some reason nobody has been talking about this very crucial topic in the bookish community, so guess who took the charge?

That’s right, me! Today we’re going to talk about book reviews, you know those long-ass strings of words that us bookworms pour their heart and soul into?

Reading a book is easy but reviewing it is not.

Not only does composing a good book review take long hours but sometimes you accidentally ruin the book for yourself bh over analyzing every single word. So let’s get into how you really become a fangirl or fanboy!

Reading Books in Public: Pros and Cons

Ask any bookworm what their haven is, the answer will always be curling up in their comfy bed with an unending supply of books, food and coffee/tea.

See, we’re such simple creatures.

But have you ever wondered why we like to stay holed up in our bedrooms instead of venturing outside with our books? Because reading in public is a complicated process that may involve inevitable death due to embarrassment. And apparently I do have a death wish because you can frequently(read: always) find me reading in public.

Lending Books + Recommendations for New Readers

It is every bookworm’s dream that all their friends and family read the millions of books they love so that they can rant  hold long discussions on how the book ended on a cliffhanger yet again!

But when they come up to us to borrow that book… we actually get a mini heart-attack. I’ve had plenty of long discussions with fellow booknerds who desperately do not want to give their soul books to other people.

Because lending books is a life-changing decision and there should be proper one-on-one interviews before we even think of giving away our precious books.
