For some reason nobody has been talking about this very crucial topic in the bookish community, so guess who took the charge?
That’s right, me! Today we’re going to talk about book reviews, you know those long-ass strings of words that us bookworms pour their heart and soul into?
Reading a book is easy but reviewing it is not.
Not only does composing a good book review take long hours but sometimes you accidentally ruin the book for yourself bh over analyzing every single word. Which is why I respect all the book bloggers out there internally screaming as they churn out reviews day after day, you guys deserve a medal. But at the same time, I get really annoyed by blogs that are solely based on book reviews and have no other content whatsoever.
I’m glad you asked why…
Okay honestly nobody is born a fangirl or fanboy, whatever anyone else might tell you.
If this was the case doctors would probably be getting heart attacks when babies sprout out reciting book quotes and squealing ‘DON’T DIE!’
There are certain stages which you have to go through during which you develop from oh-I-actually-might-like-reading to I-WILL-SHIP-EVERYTHING-IN-EVERY-BOOK. And it’s not overnight either though this transformation may occur at different ages for different people.
So let’s get into how you really become a fangirl or fanboy!
Ask any bookworm what their haven is, the answer will always be curling up in their comfy bed with an unending supply of books, food and coffee/tea.
See, we’re such simple creatures.
But have you ever wondered why we like to stay holed up in our bedrooms instead of venturing outside with our books? Because reading in public is a complicated process that may involve inevitable death due to embarrassment. And apparently I do have a death wish because you can frequently(read: always) find me reading in public.
And so I decided to make a list of pros and cons of reading books in public because I’m obsessed with lists and have a severe need to analyse everything. But this can be very useful for you, so keep reading on!
It is every bookworm’s dream that all their friends and family read the millions of books they love so that they can
rant hold long discussions on how the book ended on a cliffhanger yet again!
But when they come up to us to borrow that book… we actually get a mini heart-attack. I’ve had plenty of long discussions with fellow booknerds who desperately do not want to give their
soul books to other people.
Because lending books is a life-changing decision and there should be proper one-on-one interviews before we even think of giving away our precious books.
Today is the official launch of the blog tour for ‘Esme’s Wish’- an exciting young-adult fantasy novel by Elizabeth Foster that will leave your mind reeling and heart throbbing for a magical adventure. A modern day retelling of Cinderella where the female protagonist is a geek and a blogger? Hell yes.
Hello everyone, today I’m going to review ‘Geekerella’ by Ashley Poston.
If you’re even the tiniest bit involved in books or blogging or the social world of book blogging there is no way you haven’t heard of Cait, more popularly know as @paperfury or the Queen of Book Blogging.
And I’m really happy to say that I got to interview her about her blog and upcoming YA contemporary book ‘A Thousand Perfect Notes’ which is coming out this June! I cannot even begin to tell you how I excited I am!
Birthdays, as you know, come only once every year and you really want them to be as perfect as they can, which can be a problem if you don’t really know what to gift that person…
Shopping for a bookworm would be easy, that’s what everyone thought! What do bookworms love? Books. Just buy tons of books for them!
You wish it were that easy.
Who loves movies?
Let me tell you, everyone!
Combine hysterical dysfunctional families with murder and reality shows and you get ‘No Time for Goodbye’- an intense and captivating mystery thriller by ‘Linwood Barclay’ that will leave you shell shocked to the core. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars!
It’s a new year, new month, new week and a new blog post!
