February Wrap-up: A Month Full of Exciting Stuff

For the shortest month in the year, there was so much happening in February. That being said, whenever my life gets busy my reading and watching stuff takes a dip, as one would expect. Either way, I have lots to talk about, starting with how good this month was. In fact, the past couple of months have generally been good and honestly, March seems like it might be the best freaking month of 2022 so far and here’s me hoping I’m not jinxing it, lol.

Anyway, let’s talk about what’s been up this past month!

Books I Read

HAPPILY EVER AFTERS

What a swoon-worthy book! I was just so hooked with everything going on in this book: the characters, the romance, the themes: chef’s kiss. Was it predictable? A bit. But I still loved every bit of it. 4.5/5 stars

THE WORD IS MURDER

This was soooo disappointing. The murder mystery was slow to develop and although interesting, it would lose its steam because of the narration. My biggest problem was the narration style that inserted Horowitz as an author and includes a detective. In theory, it’s a good idea but it didn’t pan out for a couple of reasons. 2.5/5 stars

THE CHARM OFFENSIVE

This was freaking amazing! I mean the romance is absolutely swoon-worthy, toe-curling and cleared my skin kind. But this book is so much more than that. It talks about mental health and found family, stepping out of your comfort zone, making mistakes and so much more. 5/5 stars

WHEN SHARKS ATTACK WITH KINDNESS

What an adorable read! This book made smile so much and the art is so cute 🙂 4/5 stars

EXTASIA

I think the idea of this book was better than the execution. A lot of things didn’t make sense. Many points were underwhelming and predictable or just seemed to make things very convenient for the main character. 3/5 stars

EXCUSE ME WHILE I UGLY CRY

The idea behind the book was so amazing but I was honestly underwhelmed. I couldn’t connect much with any of the characters nd there were certain things that were far-fetched or convenient. 3/5 stars

THE BOOK OF LIVING SECRETS

I wish this book was marketed a bit differently but I did thoroughly enjoy the whole idea, the friendships, romance and the world. It was a very immersive experience! 4/5 stars

Books I Hauled

I just hauled one book: What Would Nietzsche Do? by Marcus Weeks. I read a similar book in the series by Freud and I really loved it. It was a take on what Freud would do in modern day situations and I’m pretty excited to read this one as well.

Everything I Binge-Watched

WANDAVISION

Umm I like the idea of this and like the last three episodes but honestly the first few episodes were confusion and meh for anyone who’s not into old time American sit coms and hasn’t grown up with them. Of course I had to watch it for the upcoming Dr. Strange movie but yeah, it was alright.

THE GOOD PLACE S1 – 4

I was making my mom watch The Good Place, this was llike the 5th rewatch for me and I’m as obsessed as ever. Honestly the best show ever made!

SHARK TANK INDIA

This was honestly so much fun to watch! I started because of the memes but I ened up learning so many new thngs and having fun watching all the yelling and negotiation.

Life Updates

I was just looking through my notes for what happened this month (yes I make notes because I have the memory of a goldfish and what is time anyway?) and I just realised that the month wasn’t all happy. In the beginning of the month my dad and grandparents got covid which wasn’t the greatest time ever.

But I got the news I’d been praying for: my university campus is reopening! Gosh it’s been so long since I got that email. Supposedly almost all classes will be offline and we’ll have roommates again. I’m really looking forward to having a good roommate experience with my friend in March (if you know, you know).

My sister’s college opened as well so we had a lot of fun shopping for stuff and dropping her off which meant traveling and interacting with people other than my family. Honest to god, I feel like I’m an extrovert at this point, that’s how much I crave in-person social interactions.

Another exciting thing I stumbled upon was that the Jaipur Literature Fest, which is the only big literary festival in India, is going to be offline this year. So I made plans with my friends Dini and Shruti to go there and I honestly still can’t believe they worked out! I’m legit going to be traveling 10hrs on a train, alone so I’m a bit nervous but mostly so freaking excited! I’ve never ever attended a literary festival so this is already gonna surpass my expectations, lol. It’s happening from 10th to I think 14th but I’m staying till 12th and leaving for my university after that. So all in all it looks like March will be a blast 🙂
