Hello friends! I’m super excited that Pondathon is back with a garden theme this time and I’m literally bouncing up and down, all ready to get started 🙂 I’ve decided that this is going to be my masterpost for the readathon where I’m going to set my goals and update my progress.
WHAT IS THE PONDATHON?
Pondathon II is a story-driven and gardening-themed readathon hosted and run by CW from The Quiet Pond. The aim of the Pondathon II readathon is to read books to earn plants and decorate your own little garden so that we can restore the forest together. More information about the readathon can be found here.
- You can sign-up to the Pondathon II readathon here. The readathon starts on January 10th 2022 and ends on December 11th 2022; sign-ups are open across the duration of the readathon. You also get to create your own Pond animal character for the Pondathon, and create your own character card!
- If you’d like, create a blog post, bookstagram post, booktube video, Twitter thread, or whatever medium you wish, with ‘#PondathonII’ in the title or your tweet. Share the character you have created and your character card!
- Link back to this post so that new friends can find the readathon and join in as well.
MY POND CHARACTER

My Pond Character is me and I had so much fun creating my tortoise version 🙂
I’ll be updating my character card and letting you all know about all the mini or side challenges I participate in as the readathon progresses.
As for a TBR, there isn’t a need for a TBR but I really want to read as many of my physically owned books that are gathering dust on my bookshelves so I’ve made a tentative TBR that will probably change and grow maybe monthly or quarterly. We’ll see.
- The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
- Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
- The Bell Jar by Silvia Plath
- Kate In Waiting by Becky Albertalli
- Yes No Maybe So by Aisha Saeed and Becky Albertalli
- Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
- The Dark Tide by Alicia Jasinska
- Body and Blood by Benyamin
- The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna
- Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
I’m not allowing myself to remove any of these books from this TBR so you all better hold me accountable so that my bookshelves don’t haunt me.
PROGRESS TRACKER
JANUARY
I haven’t crossed anything off my TBR yet but I’m delighted that academic and creative writing also counts for this readathon. Such a boon! Here’s my geranium for the month.

Are you participating in the Pondathon? If yes drop a link to your announcement blog post, tweet or Instagram post! I would love to check it out 🙂
Do you have a TBR for Pondathon or are you going to wing it as you go?
Have you read any of the books on my TBR? If yes, what are your thoughts on them?

What a cute tortoise 😊 I’ve aso signed up and am excited to play along.

I’m so excited for Pondathon! I’ll probably end up both reading and writing for it (my wips need a lot of work and I need motivation lol) and I can’t wait to build my little garden!

Omg yes! I was wondering if we can do both because it would definitely be great motivation for my wips and assignments hehe 😊

[…] Other than that I’ve also been having fun reading, especially for Pondathon. I’ve decided I’m doing a new geranium every month and oh my god January’s geranium looks adorable, even if I say so myself 🙂 I have a separate masterpost for Pondathon so you can check it out here. […]
