2022 Book Releases on my Radar

You all… 2022 is less than a month away? I’ve just lost track of time but more than that I’ve just not been preparing for the next year in terms of book releases either! I have bookmarked some 2022 book release lists but haven’t had the time to go through them. It’s something that I plan on doing snuggled in my bed during the holidays once this semester is finally over!

But nevertheless, I do have a few books on my radar, either because they are sequels, books from authors I adore or books that book twitter has been yelling about. So let’s dive into it!

2022 Book Releases on my Radar

The Genesis Wars by Akemi Dawn Bowman

Um I was abso-freaking-lutely obsessed with The Infinity Court last year to the point I was screaming and crying, ESPECIALLY ABOUT THAT ENDING. I’ve been waiting so long for this sequel, you all have no idea. I wouldn’t suggest even looking up the blurb for The Genesis Wars if you haven’t read TIC but in case you have, I’m sure you’re as psyched for this as I am!

The Kindred by Alechia Dow

Listen, Alechia Dow is my auto-read auto-buy author so anything she writes, I’m here for it! The Kindred seems to be a sci-fi story about running away and a commoner and royal falling in love. Okay maybe there’s a lot more to it but I like to go in without knowing much so feel free to check out the blurb for this one, I’m just a sucker for this author 🙂

Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Sutanto

Another sequel I absolutely need to get my hands on!!! I was thoroughly entertained by Dial A For Aunties and I expect Four Aunties and a Wedding to be as hilariously written and engaging as the first book. I honestly adore the four aunties, they steal the show for me and I would gladly read 10 more books about them.

Ophelia After All by Racquel Marie

I think I added Ophelia After All because everyone on book twitter went crazy after its cover was revealed. And to be fair, the cover is gorgeous and I’m a sucker for it. But omg then I checked the blurb and it’s about discovering love and sexuality in highschool and I feel like I’m going to massively relate to this. Ahhhh I’m so excited!!

Queen of the Tiles by Hanna Alkaf

WATCH MY INNER NERD COME OUT!!! I love, love, love scrabble so freaking much. I was so obsessed with it as a kid to the point nobody would play with me cause I always won. Yup, just a casual flex. Anyway, imagine my excitement when I found about Queen of the Tiles, a book about a girl who competes in Scrabble competitions and how her dead best-friend’s Instagram starts posting strange things and now it’s up to her to figure out the whole mystery. Ummm??? If there’s one book that I need to read it’s this one.

The Loophole by Naz Kutub

This book just had to say ‘timid, queer Indian boy’ and I was in! Okay but The Loophole sounds like an amazing book about how Sy, the mc, gets offered three wishes and he actually takes one of them to go find Farouk, his boyfriends who moved away? Like omg the romance here is gonna be so good but I’m also interested in whether this is magical realism or what? I’m just here for the vibes honestly.

Live, Laugh, Kidnap by Gabby Noone

I read Layoverland by the same author and was instantly in love so now she’s an auto-buy author. But despite that the blurb of Live, Laugh, Kidnap sounds so chaotic and interesting! It’s about a kidnapping involved when a group of girls try going up against an exploitative megachurch in their small town. Definitely up my alley!

The Book of Living Secrets by Madeleine Roux

UMMM TWO GIRLS TRANSPORT THEMSELVES INTO THEIR FAVOURITE BOOK?!?!?!? The Book of Living Secrets sounds like a dream! But then again, knowing my favourite books this can quickly go downhill. And it seems like it’s the same for Adelle and Connie who realise that darkness is lurking behind a world they love so much and they might need to rewrite their own arcs if they want to escape unscathed.

Warrior of the Wind by Suyi Okungbowa

Listen, I was obsessed with Sun of the Storm and still am! I just randomly think of the book and characters from time to time and I absolutely cannot wait to know what happens to them in Warrior of the Wind!

Set On You by

Set On You is a sorta enemies to lovers where the characters meet at a gym and then find each other at their grandparents’ engagement party and a picture of them goes viral. Umm the guy is a fire-fighter and the girl is crushing gym stereotypes? She’s a curvy fitness influencer?????? WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?!

Are any of these books on your TBR?

What are some 2022 releases you are the most excited for?

How do you keep track of all the book releases? I honestly can’t keep up!
