Thoughts I Have When I See A Cafe With Books

All bookworms have a tendency to go crazy whenever they see books, without any care for the place or time, but we do try our best to conceal our crazy feelings. And this is what this time’s Off Tangent Thoughts prompt is about.

OTT PROMPT

THOUGHTS YOU HAVE ON SEEING A LIBRARY/BOOKSTORE/CAFE WITH BOOKS

I have complete freak-outs when I spot books absolutely anywhere, especially when it is unexpected. In this prompt you all can talk about your reactions and thoughts when you come across books in a cafe or libraries or bookstores. I’m personally going to be talking about the thoughts I have when I see a cafe with books. Such places are not that popular in my city so I always freak out when I find one and you’re about to see exactly how.

THOUGHTS I HAVE WHEN I SEE A CAFE WITH BOOKS

  • *eyes widen*
  • *internal freaking out*
  • *mini gasp*
  • My family: Oh there she goes again
  • *is magnetically pulled by the books*
  • *whispers* books, the love of my life!
  • I can’t believe I came out for food but I got books? Books and food? WOW
  • Okay but want kind of a selection do they have?
  • Ooh I see a lot of genres here and –
  • IS THAT MY FAVOURITE BOOK?
  • *hugs the book and cradles it like a baby*
  • IT IS! OH MY GOD
  • Hmm would my family disown me if I ignore them and just start reading a book here?
  • Do a photoshoot of me with the books!!!
  • Oooh this one looks interesting, I’m adding it to my TBR
  • *distant wailing of my TBR*
  • *inhales the scent of the pages*
  • Oh you poor little book, who dog-eared you?
  • My family: Okay then, we’ve lost her
  • I’M JUST SO HAPPY BEING SURROUNDED BY BOOKS
  • *clicks tons of pictures*
  • *eats slowly because she doesn’t want to leave*
  • *tears up* I have to say goodbye to them…
  • I shall forever cherish the short time we spent together and I promise to come and visit you from time to time
  • REMEMBER ME

I try so hard to contain my excitement but I’m pretty sure despite my valiant attempts the waiters do get a little freaked out by me… Anyway, what are your thoughts when you see a cafe with books? Or maybe you want to talk about your reactions when you spot a library or bookstore.

  1. THIS IS ME!!!!!!!!!! We were no longer allowed to go anywhere with books because my family was convinced I wouldn’t pay attention to anyone. In their defence, they weren’t wrong…

  2. I haven’t been to a book cafe yet but IT’S ON MY LIST. I’ve set my sights on one in my city which looks SUPER COOL and I’ve literally roped in multiple people into the plan so I can go even if a few of them back out on me haha. Or I might just go multiple times, what’s the harm, right?

  3. I’ve yet to stumble into a cafe with books…rest assured when I do I won’t be leaving anytime soon pahaha. I do go batshit crazy though when I see an old telephone box full with books. There’s one in a village about 20 mins away from me, and its basically done with idea of if you take a book, please leave another book there haha. Kinda like a library I guess but I ADORE it, it’s so cute

    • OMG WOW! That sounds so freaking adorable 😍 Ooh I wish you stumble upon a bookish cafe soon. I’ve heard of this place which is somewhere near my uni where they let you take away a book every time you have a meal there!! 💞😍
