Are you drooling yet? Because I totally am!
I’m a huge pancake fan, it’s my favourite breakfast and my favourite thing to cook. You can constantly find me experimenting with pancakes in the kitchen and find my friends drooling on instagram 😉
AND NOW YOU SAY PANCAKES WITH BOOKS?
I remember seeing this tag float around and wishing someone would tag me even though I’m drowning in tags like a pancake drowns in syrup. It’s brutal.
And then my lovely friend Tiffany tagged me and I praised my lucky stars. Tiffany is the absolute best and she has such a pretty, now self-hosted, blog that you all absolutely need to check out! Okay now let’s get started with
eating pancakes answering some questions.

THE PANCAKE BOOK TAG
I recently read A Thousand Beginnings and Endings and wow this anthology was so beautifully written! The prose was spectacular and there were vivid images flashing before my mind of different cultural places, traditions, clothes, food and son on. This book doesn’t just have a dusting of beautiful prose, somebody emptied the whole damn jar!
One of the wittiest characters I have ever read about is Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson series. This girl has a machine for a brain! She knows next to everything, can solve absolutely any problem, makes kickass plans to save everyone else and best of all has a great sarcastic tone. I guess she had a lot of time to perfect it while living amongst idiots.
If you didn’t guess that I would choose Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda for this one then I’m sorely disappointed in you. If you’re new to my blog I can forgive you. I mean it’s Simon. Do I need to keep talking? I could be in a mid life crisis but I would grab this book for the 27th time and nuzzle in a couch reading about the cutest couple in the history of the universe 🙂
The point is, I did not recover and had the biggest book hangover ever!
I still haven’t recovered. I never will recover.
Oof you all, The Princess and the Fangirl is every bookworm’s dream come true! It has cute gay girls falling in love, book cons and fandoms, meet cutes, more gays, rediscovering yourself, precious cameos, cutesy awkward moments- seriously do I need to go on?
Leah Burke is one character that people either love or hate and I’m on the former view. Leah is introduced in Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda where she seems somewhat sharp on the edges and a bit surly? But then in Leah on the Offbeat we come to know that she’s just a confused and haphazard teen trying to figure out her life – SO FREAKING RELATABLE.
Anybody who has read And Then There Were None will agree with me – what a piece of brilliance! I mean you keep thinking you’ve guessed it all, the murder sequence, the trivialities of the plot but you can never in a thousand years guess the freaking murderer! This book haunted me at night and I can never not recommend it.
Okay I’m cheating just a tiny bit with this prompt. There’s no romance that I didn’t originally ship but fell in love with later(at least not that I can remember of) but there are Thomas and Teresa from The Maze Runner series whom I never really shipped together and even at the very end I hated their romance. Seriously, Thomas deserved so much better and what was it with Teresa and her love for backstabbing and betrayal?
I DON’T LIKE PEANUT BUTTER EITHER.
Finally someone who shares my opinions! Anyway, the first person who comes to mind for this prompt is Beck’s mother from A Thousand Perfect Notes. Oh wow that was a real messed up lady. She was constantly abusing her children both emotionally and physically and refused to give poor Beck any freedom Every move of her son had to be controlled by her, this mother was a twisted psychopath and genuinely made me recoil.
Have I talked enough about There’s Something About Sweetie? Nope. Never.
This gorgeous masterpiece is full of every kind of diversity whether it comes to race, size, sexuality- you name it. Sandhya Menon wrote such a wholesome book, I shall forever screech and sing praises about it .
For this one I’m tagging anyone who wishes to do this tag! It’s a fun and interesting one so be sure to give it a try if you can 🙂
