TBR for Asian Lit Bingo + Asian Readathon

Hi everyone!

I’m a teeny bit late with this post but let’s just ignore that, okay?

Let me just start off by saying that I love readathons! My favourite part is probably making up my TBR for the readathon, especially when I’m trying to go for multiple readathons and merge all the TBRs to the best of my abilities.

This month I’m participating in three readathons, one of them being the Avenger Readathon which is uptil 14 May. But I’m not here to talk about that. May is the month of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and the bookish community is surely embracing it with utmost enthusiasm!

There are two readathons about Asian books and authors up right now, both lasting for the month of May. I mean how could I say no?

So let’s check out my TBRs for both these readathons! 🙂

ASIAN LIT BINGO

For the Asian Lit Bingo 2019 I’m trying to complete and cross off at least one line. Here’s my TBR for that:

Graphic Novel with Asian MC: Future Diary

Queer Romance with Asian MC: The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali

Romance with POC/Indigenous Love Interest: There’s Something About Sweetie

Central Asian MC: Sea Prayer

Translated Work by an Asian Author: Jasmine Days

ASIAN READATHON

You’ll see in a minute how much my TBRs overlap and how thankful I am for that because like the multi-tasker I am, I want to participate in all the readathons in the world XD The best part about this readathon is that one book can cross off multiple challenges so you can potentially read 2 books and still successfully complete the readathon challenges. You can go check out all the details an d suggestions for the prompts right here.

CHALLENGES

Any book by an Asian author: Sea Prayer

Graphic novel ft. an Asian character or written/drawn by an Asian author: Future Diary
Book featuring an intersectional Asian character or written by an intersectional Asian identity: The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali

Book by Asian author that was originally written in their native language (translated books and graphic novels count): Future Diary
The group book: A Thousand Beginnings and Endings

So what are your thoughts on readathons? Do you participate in them often? What do you think of my TBRs? Are you participating in either of these readathons? If yes, let me know if we have any books in common and maybe we can buddy read?

  1. I rarely, if ever, participate in readathons or reading challenges, but these two seem interesting! I’m wondering if any of the prompts will crossover with my YARC TBR… Good luck with them!
