A long time ago back when J.K Rowling had started writing Harry Potter, Sahi @My World of Books had tagged me for the Bookish Academy Awards Tag and look who’s finally getting to it!
This tag was originally created by Bookadoodles so go check out her video for more information! The basic rundown is that there are various categories like in the Oscar awards only that the awards will be given away to books and bookish characters! Exciting, right?
But also insanely frustrating….
This tag drove me nuts because it’s so difficult to chose between books! You always forget about some book or the other and feel guilty about leaving them out. So I tried to include only those books which I’ve read in the past year. Tried.
BEST ACTOR
(Best Male Protagonist)
Percy Jackson from the PJO series!
He’s brave, funny, adorable and everything one wishes for in a main character!
BEST ACTRESS
(Best Female Protagonist)
Molly Peskin Suso from The Upside of Unrequited. No more words needed.
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
(Best Plot Twist)
History Is All You Left Me. I was going to give it a 2 star rating but that plot twist struck me from nowhere and wow. 4 stars.
BEST COSTUME DESIGN
(Best Book Cover)
All book covers are gorgeous! If I even try to do this one I’ll end up listing down a thousand books…
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS AND ACTOR
(Best Supporting Female and Male Sidekick)
It pains me to call them sidekicks because for me they’re the only main characters!
Isabelle and Alec Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments because they’re both badass and deserve the whole world
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
(Most Unique Plot/World)
Warcross
I absolutely loved both the plot and the world!
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
(Best Book-to-Movie-Adaptation )
Love, Simon an adaptation of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda
This movie hasn’t released in my country yet, something I’ll forever be salty about, but I already know I’m going to love it!
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE
(A book that would work well in animated format)
Eliza and her Monsters
BEST DIRECTOR
(A writer you discovered for the first time)
Erin Morgenstern through The Night Circus
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS
(Best Action in a book)
The Alex Rider series! I don’t usually read action books but this series was so enthralling and an absolute childhood favorite.
BEST SHORT FILM
(Best Novella or Short Book)
Destroy Me, novella of the Shatter Me series
BEST PICTURE
(Best Stand-Alone)
Geekerella by Ashley Poston
BEST DOCUMENTARY
(Best Historical Fiction or Non-Fiction)
Chanaya’s Chant
Huge thank you to Sahi for tagging me! I tag:
So get going! Can’t wait to read all your answers 🙂
Love so many of those series, especially TMI and Alex Rider! 💖

I definitely agree with you about Alec and Isabelle Lightwood! Tbh I kept reading the series just for them. They were much better than Jace and Clary.

YAS THANK YOU! The Lightwoods and Magnus Bane are the only reason that I go re read that series. Well maybe Simon too but CC spoiled him for me when he double dated Izzy and Maia like hell Simon wpuld never do that! The Lightwoods deserve their own books 😬

Season 1 is okayish but Season 2 is mindblowing and S3 which just started is even better! I’ve been rewatching with a friend who’s watching it for the first time nd she’ll agree that it only gets better and better! Plus, loads of Malec and such amazing potrayal of Mgnus and the Lightwoods!

AHHHH YASSSS PERCY!!! He’s still my ultimate book boyfriend, regardless of how many hot dudes I read about in books. ♥ Isabelle would totally be my supporting female lead, too. She’s super snarky and does everything unapologetically. At some point, she seemed more like the main heroine than Clary did!
Thank you for the tag! I’m excited to share my answers. 🙂
