The ‘Me in Book Character’ Tag

And today in the life of Charvi we’re going to watch the main protagonist, aka me, bang her head against the wall while trying to recollect all the bookish characters she has ever read about.

That alone wouldn’t have been a problem but she has to know which characters she actually relates to the most and hello whoever thought this is an easy job is clearly insane. Not to mention she needs to chose just 5 of them.

Serious contemplations of burying herself under her pile of books had been made.

If none of that is making any sense let me just say that I’ve been tagged for the ‘Me in Character’ Tag wherein I have to list 5 characters I relate to the most and why.

I was tagged by my lovely friend Aditi. Go check out her blog, she’s sweet and awesome!

The rules of this tag are:

  • Thank the creators of the tag – Ash and Lo @Windowsill Books
  • Thank whoever tagged you.
  •  List 5 book character who you relate to most and explain why.
  • Tag some of your friends!

Now let’s get on with it!

Elle Wittimer from Geekerella

There is no fangirl alive who cannot relate to this precious geek from Geekerella. Elle is a sweet girl who keeps to herself and breathes in the Starfield world, a sci-fi series that she obsesses over and blogs about.

The reason that I feel Elle was so relatable for me was that she’s a simple girl with nerdy aspirations like cosplaying and attending Comic Cons and living her life to the fullest. Her whole character is just really adorable and she never gives up hope until the very end. You can read more about her wonderful journey in my review here.

Molly Peskin-Suso from The Upside of Unrequited

In case you somehow missed out my total freak out over The Upside of Unrequited you should totally go back and read it.

Molly is a shy and fat girl who has no idea how to talk to boys and has trouble opening up with people, and wow every bit of that is relatable.

She also loves art and craft!

And has a crazy life with her extroverted and completely opposite twin sister whom she loves a lot which I totally get.

I’ll just go ahead and say it almost felt as if I was Molly, that’s how wonderful she was.

Alec Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments

Because he’s just like me. Okay, that’s not the only reason. Plus, he’s much more adorable and precious than I’ll ever be.

Alec is a generally grumpy person who doesn’t open up easily and can frequently be found sulking or scowling but when you get to know him he’s really just this friendly little boy who is a stumbling and blushing mess and again, that’s me.

Watch him go from this…

He loves his family and friends to death and will do everything in his hands to protect them and give them everything they deserve. Alec just wants to follow the rules and fit in with everyone and oh my god I’m just speechless at this wonderfully tall human being okay*

I generally don’t relate to any male characters that much but hell yes to Alec! Nobody better lay a single finger on him.

*yes he is a real human being, I shall fight you on that

Cath Avery from Fangirl

If you thought she wasn’t going to make an appearance on this list then you’re a fool. Again, she is the perfect representation for all the introverted fangirls out there who just want to stay holed up in the house with their books.

Cath has a twin sister Wren who is a completely opposite when compared to Cath who has fallen into the boookish world of Simon Snow and the Mages. She is an avid reader and fanfic writer and also suffers from crippling social anxiety.

Yes to all of that, except my anxiety issues aren’t as severe as Cath’s, thank god.

But it made me so happy on the inside to read about this shy and nerdy girl who is so much like me and to see how she overcomes the struggles in her life.

Dante from Dante and Aristotle Discover the Secrets of the Universe

Now I read this book quite a long time ago and one of the only things I remember thinking about is how much I loved Dante’s character as his thoughts and feelings resemble mine a lot.

But, I have a very weak memory…

So all I can remember is that he was just an innocent little soul who loved his family a lot and was always trying to do his very best at everything. Dante was confused and angry at the way the world worked- why gay people had to be looked down upon, why people were supposed to wear shoes, why bullies even existed and all that stuff.

I just really love him!

And I tag Sahi from My World of Books

Shruti from This Is Lit

Vee from My Reading List

Chloe from Book Dragons

So which characters do you relate to the most? Are there characters you vaguely remember about but know that you really loved them? Or is it just me? Tell me all about it in the comments below!

I’ll see you all in the next post!

  1. Ah thanks for the tag, just a piece of advice which I’ve learned to do. If you go and tag another blog but use their home URL they won’t get the pingback sadly. You need to actually copy and paste an URL from one of their posts for them to get the pingback. If I’d not been super nosy I’d not have known you’d tagged me – which would have been shame 🙂

Anyway…now I have to also think of 5 characters *brain short circuits* haha

  2. Aah I thought I had forgotten to add Molly to my list. But I hadn’t. But she’s such a great character. And like soooo relatable. And she has trouble talking to boys? That’s sooo me. But then I have trouble talking to anyone.
And obviously Cath. I don’t know why but when I saw Cath I just had this sudden urge to read Carry On again.
Even I don’t remember much from Aristotle and Dante and to say that I read the book in December of last year! My memory is so cool.

    • Yes! I remember being like oops I’m copying like half of Aditi’s list but they are just so relatable!
Yup, talking to anyone is difficult but talking to boys is like engineering for me XP And if I do get talking to someone I just end up babbling nervously so whoops better stay quiet!
We bookworms need better memories 😬

  3. Cath Avery all the way! I can relate to her so bad. I may not be as introverted as her, but the fanfic writer part of her life? MEEEE! xD

Thanks for the tag. I’ll file this one away for later and hopefully not forget about it. 😁
